The prices of the VDO dip-tube senders vary depending on the length required. The lowest price shown is for the 200mm length of sender - the additional cost on top of this base price for alternative lengths is shown in the drop down box.
VDO dip-tube fuel level sensors consist of a float inside a 40mm diameter vertical tube. Small holes at the top and bottom of the tube act as a baffle to fuel sloshing around in the fuel tank. The resistance range varies at empty depending on the length but are between 60 & 90 ohms at empty to approximately 2 to 5 ohms full. The sensor matches the VDO dip-pipe fuel gauges or the ETB dip-pipe type fuel gauge (calibrated to match the specific tube length).
The senders are made in set lengths, starting at 150mm increasing to 800mm in length. (at 10mm intervals up to 400mm, then in 50mm intervals). The top fitting is approximately 70mm in diameter with 5 (unequally spaced) bolt holes on a 54mm P.C.D.. The dip-tubes come in various lengths - please ensure that the length chosen is at least 4mm from the base of the fuel tank once fitted.
The sensors are supplied with a gasket. Fitting kits are available separately - N05-801-434 (to fit a 59mm diameter hole) or a weld-on, stepped flange to fit a 63mm diameter hole (part number 2-250-264/1141) - see related products.
Industrial VDO senders with an 80mm bolt P.C.D. ranging from approximately 641mm to 1045mm are also available - please contact us.
